10-day intensive international summer program for students of Journalism & Media Studies.


The Journey program is an annually organized intensive 10-day summer course in journalism focused on offering participants unique experience through interactive seminars and workshops conducted by professional journalists, editors and media experts from world’s most renowned news outlets and agencies such as BBC, CNN, the New York Times, Reuters or the Wall Street Journal.

The course will be taking place August 4-14, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. Working language of the program is English.


The program focuses on best practices and standards of modern-day journalism. Students will undergo series of workshops on current trends and tools used in reporting, data collection and analysis, investigative journalism and many more aspects of modern media work. Students will also test their skills in practical exercises under the guidance from experienced editors including a twoday real-time field reporting simulation.
By the end of the program, students should be able to more confidently report and write breaking news as well as produce long-form stories while adhering to the highest ethical standards. Students will learn to create news content for various platforms, work with experienced editors and deliver stories under strict deadlines. Each student will also be required to pitch, report and write a longform story on an assigned theme.


The program is designed for applicants who are current students of journalism, media studies or related fields, and who will have successfully completed a minimum of two semesters of their college/university education by August 2018. In addition, applicants must have an overall good academic standing and a very good command of English language. Professional experience in the field is welcome but not required.

Only citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the USA. Applicants must have a passport valid until September 2019 and be able to travel to the Czech Republic.
